During 2017 Gustavianum is highlighting the importance of measurement in various natural sciences.
Physicist Masanao Abe (1891-1966) devoted himself for more than half a century to the scientific study of clouds and air currents surrounding a Japanese cultural symbol: Mount Fuji. Abe developed cloud research through accurate measurements and innovative imaging techniques. The exhibition features stunning photographs and film recordings from Abe’s research laboratory. The exhibition is produced by Tokyo University Museum.
