At Gustavianum a selection of ancient Greek and Roman coins are exhibited. Starting in 2019, new exhibitions will be built.

The main exhibition of coins and medals from the Middle Ages to the present is shown at the University Main Building, together with several other objects from the 18th century: the world’s first banknote, a rich selection of Sweden's Plate money, rare and unique coins testifying to Swedish history and medals with portraits of famous men and women. Carl Linnaeus is included as well as two Nobel medals.
