The Coin Cabinet

In the university’s Coin Cabinet - found in the University building, a stone's throw from Museum Gustavianum’s main building - we have the opportunity to enter into what can nearest be described as a treasure chamber. You can regard coins and medals from all different periods here; from the dawn of coinage stamping, approximately 2600 years ago, and up to the present day.

Also at the Museum Gustavianum you have the opportunity to regard parts of the coin collection. In the Mediterranean and the Gulf of the Nile exhibitions there are two stands displaying antique Greek and Roman coins.
