The Mediterranean Sea and the Gulf of the Nile

The exhibition depicts several thousand years of cultural history from Egypt and other regions around the Mediterranean Sea. There are beautifully decorated mummy cases which tell of life after death, and of the gods who the Egyptians believed in. Mud and stone paintings reveal the origin of the written word and Nubian textiles show patterns and
weaving techniques typical
for the period.

The exhibition also shows what the Swedish archaeologists found when they took part in the excavations in the town of Sinda on the eastern side of Cyprus and Asine in the Greek countryside of Argolis.
