The Mediterranean Sea and the Gulf of the Nile
The exhibition showcases several millennia of cultural history from Egypt and the Mediterranean region.
There are beautifully decorated mummy sarcophagi that tell of life after death and the gods the Egyptians believed in. Clay and stone tablets show the development of writing and Nubian textiles show patterns and techniques typical of their time.
The exhibition also shows what Swedish archaeologists found when they participated in excavations of the town of Sinda in eastern Cyprus and Asine in the Argolid region of Greece.
