Gustavianum is one of the best museums in Sweden
Users of the website Trip Advisor have ranked Gustavianum as the sixth best museum in Sweden and given it the distinction ‘Travellers’ Choice’. Only the Vasa Museum, Skansen, ABBA The Museum, Fotografiska and the Swedish Air Force Museum were rated more highly than Gustaviaum.
‘This is great news! We have been able to extend our opening hours and offer even better customer service in 2015 – improvements that are reflected in our reviews on Trip Advisor’, says Museum Director Marika Hedin.
During the past year Gustavianum has made its collections more available for research and has engaged students to lead guided tours and events, with the aim of becoming an interface between the University and the general public. The Museum welcomed a record 80,000 visitors during 2015.
The Museum is currently planning new exhibitions together with researchers from all three of the University’s disciplinary domains, and has also entered into collaborations with museums at the universities of Oxford, Yale and Tokyo.
‘We are a university museum, and this should inform and inspire everything we do. Gustavianum cares for a wealth of amazing objects and we want more of them to be seen’, says Marika Hedin.
