- Amsterdam: The Allard Pierson Museum. Archaeological Museum
of the University of Amsterdam. One of the better public collections in the Netherlands.
- Berlin: Ägyptisches Museum.
The Egyptian Museum in Berlin owns one of the world's most important collections of Ancient Egyptian Art.
Through its pieces of art, especially from the time of King Akhenaton (around 1340 BC) from Tell el Amarna, the
museum has reached world niveau and renown.
- Bologna: Museo Archeologico di Bologna.
The collection of Egyptian antiquities at the Archaeological Museum of Bologna is one of the most important in
Europe.
- Cambridge: The Fitzwilliam Museum is the art museum
of the University of Cambridge. It was founded in 1816 by the bequest of the VIIth Viscount Fitzwilliam of
Merrion and contains magnificent collections of works of art and antiquities of national and international
importance.
- Copenhagen: Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. The Collection of Ancient
Art follows the development of sculpture from its beginnings in Egypt c. 3000 BC to the end of the Roman
imperial period in the 5th century AD.
- Copenhagen: The National Museum of Denmark. Denmark's central museum
of cultural history, comprising the histories of Danish and foreign cultures, alike. It houses one of Denmark's
best collections of Egyptian antiquities.
- Copenhagen: The Papyrus Collection at the Carsten Niebuhr Institute,
University of Copenhagen. The Carlsberg Papyrus Collection contains more than 500 inventoried papyri in
addition to a considerable amount of material that has yet to be catalogued.
- Cracow: Muzeum Archeologiczne. The Archeological Museum of
Cracow contains a small but fine collection.
- Edinburgh: The National Museum of Scotland
in Edinburgh houses the best collection of Egyptian material in Scotland.
- Frankfurt am Main: Naturmuseum Senckenberg has a permanent
exhibit concerning mummification in ancient Egypt.
- Hanover: The Kestner Museum
has a small but very interesting collection of Egyptian material.
- Hildesheim: Roemer- und Pelizaeus-Museum
is another rather large collection of Egyptian antiquities in Germany.
- Leiden: Rijksmuseum van Oudheden. The National Museum of
Antiquities houses the Netherlands finest collection of Egyptian art.
- Leipzig: Ägyptisches Museum. This small
collection of Egyptian objects belongs to the University of Leipzig.
- London: The British Museum is by
far the largest collection in England and one of the foremost in the world. The

- London: The Petrie Museum is part of University College
London and is home to a fantastic collection of material mostly excavated by Sir Flinders Petrie.
- Manchester: The Manchester Museum is part of Manchester University
and is home to one of England's many fine collections of Egyptian antiquities.
- Munich: Staatliches Museum Ägyptischer Kunst München.

- Oxford: The Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology is part
of the University of Oxford and is Britain's oldest public museum and the house of Oxford's collection of
Egyptian antiquities.
- Paris: The Louvre houses France's largest public collection of
Egyptian antiquities and is considered one of the finest in the world.
- Poznan: Poznan Archaeological Museum. A permanent
exhibition entitled 'Death and Life in Ancient Egypt' is on display here.
- Rome: Museo Gregoriano Egiziano. A small but fine collection of
Egyptian antiquities housed in the Vatican.
- St Petersburg: The State Hermitage Museum. Russia's
largest collection of Egyptian art and antiquities.
- Swansea: Egypt Centre - Museum of Egyptian Antiquities.
This museum, which is connected to the University of Wales, houses a small but interesting collection of Egyptian antiquities.
- Turin: Museo Egizio. The Egyptian Museum in Turin houses
one of Europe's most important collections.
- Vienna: Kunsthistorisches Museum has Austria's finest collection.
- Warsaw: Muzeum Narodowe. The National Museum in Warsaw houses
Poland's finest collection.
American museums with Egyptian collections:
- Ann Arbor: The Kelsey Museum, which is part of the
University of Michegan, houses a collection of nearly 100 000 objects from the civilizations of the
Mediterranean.
- Atlanta: The Michael C. Carlos Museum which is part of Emory University has a small but very interesting collection of Egyptian antiquities.
- Berkeley: The Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology at the University of
California, Berkeley. Special exhibitions and public programs draw upon the Hearst's vast collections to
highlight aspects of the Americas, Asia, Africa, Oceania, Ancient Egypt, and the Near East.
- Boston: The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston houses one of the finest Egyptian collections of its kind in the world. There are approximately 40,000 objects in the collection. Ninety-five percent of these came from nearly forty years of scientific excavations in Egypt and the Sudan.
- Chicago: The Field Museum has a fantastic thematic
exhibition of ancient Egyptian material.
- Chicago: The Oriental Institute Museum
of the University of Chicago houses nearly 30 000 Egyptian artifacts that were acquired through a combination
of purchases and archaeological excavations.
- Columbia: The University of Missouri's Museum of Art & Archaeology.

- Detroit: The Detroit Institute of Arts has a fine

- Knoxville: The McClung Museum of the University of

- New York: The Brooklyn Museum of Art is the
second largest art museum in New York City and one of the largest in the United States. One of the premier art
institutions in the world, its permanent collection includes more than one and a half million objects, from
ancient Egyptian masterpieces to contemporary art, and represents almost every culture.
- New York: The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The collection of
ancient Egyptian art at the Metropolitan Museum ranks among the finest outside Cairo. It consists of
approximately 36,000 objects of artistic, historical, and cultural importance, dating from the Paleolithic
to the Roman period (c. 300 000 BP - 4th century AD). More than half of the collection is derived from
the Museum's thirty-five years of archaeological work in Egypt.
- Philadelphia: The Penn Museum. The University of
Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology has one of the finest collections of Egyptian material
in the USA.
- San José: The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum,
architecturally inspired by the Temple of Amon at Karnak, houses the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts
on exhibit in the western United States.
- Toronto: Royal Ontario Museum. The ROM contains Canada's
foremost collection of Egyptian antiquities.
